Modern farming is highly mechanized, ensuring the fulfillment of basic technological processes of crop and livestock productionby technical means, using their work with different levels of energy. Given that liquid and gaseous forms of energy are natural materials and their presence is not unlimited, it is necessary in every way to save them in connection with the extensive use of them for industrial and domestic use. Therefore, in recent years, many experts call energy saving the country’s economic security. Only in the 1980s they began to conduct energy analysis in agricultural production, which was aimed at developing resource- and energy-saving technologies in agricultural production. The efficiency of energy consumption in the process of agricultural production in this energy analysis is typically characterized by the «energy efficiency», which is the ratio of energy stored by photosynthesis and bioconversion to the total energy costs for the production of agricultural produce, obtained mainly from non-renewable sources. The article describes the methodology of the energy analysis of technological processes and means of mechanization of agricultural production, proposed by Academician M. E. Matsepuro and dubbed «The principle of optimal energy consumption of technological processes and means of mechanization», including indicators of useful energy consumption in the production process and the efficiency of the working organ or machine-tractor unit. The optimum combination of these parameters helps to minimize the energy required to perform the technological process, which is the basis of energy conservation in agricultural production.
The article actualized the need to develop specialized software for complex computer-aided design of working bodies of machines for the care of drainage canals. The results of computer simulation of the process of clearing meliorative canals, as well as the results of engineering analysis of the input parameters of canal cleaners and mowing machines with rotary working bodies are presented. The list of solvable CAD tasks related to the computerization of engineering research and simulation of the behavior of canal cleaning equipment during operation is given.
The purpose of this study is to develop the theoretical foundations of the vertical oscillations of the combined arable-grinding machine-tractor unit and to justify the stability of its movement in the longitudinal-vertical plane. The studies used methods for constructing mathematical models of the functioning of agricultural machines and machine units based on the theory of the tractor, the theory of oscillations, the theory of automatic control and stability of motion, and methods of programming and numerical calculations on a PC. The dynamics of the vertical oscillations of this unit is investigated on the basis of the analysis of the amplitude-frequency characteristics of the unit as a dynamic system that reacts to external disturbances in the form of irregularities in the soil surface. As a result of the conducted analytical studies, an equivalent circuit of this combined machine-tractor unit was constructed in the longitudinal-vertical plane, its characteristic points were determined, linear and angular displacements were specified, and active forces were applied. Each pneumatic wheel of the unit, presented in the form of an elastic-damping model, has a point contact with the unevenness of the soil surface, which are given by the corresponding heights. Using the initial equations of Lagrange form of the 2nd kind, first generalized coordinates, expressions for kinetic and potential energies, dissipative functions and generalized forces were determined and after the necessary transformations a system of four differential equations of motion of the dynamical system under consideration was composed. Next, for the obtained system of differential equations, Laplace transformations were performed, which made it possible to obtain a system of equations in operator form and prepare them for a form convenient for numerical calculations using a compiled program on a PC. According to the results of numerical calculations, graphs of the amplitude and phase frequency characteristics of the tractor’s vertical oscillations with different stiffness coefficients of its steerable wheels, amplitude-frequency characteristics of chopper vibrations depending on its mass and stiffness coefficient of the tires of the support wheels, as well as the characteristics of its oscillations field pneumatic support wheel.
The existing condition of drying machines on flax-mills is analyzed, conceptual provisions of their development in modern conditions are presented, tasks which have to be realized at development and design of energy saving drying machines for bast crops are set.

The article presents the results of studies on the justification of the angle of inclination to the horizon of the longitudinal links of the mechanism of linkage of the Ripper device for pre-treatment of ridges in order to ensure uniform loosening of their tops.
The spring-ripper proposed by us can be used to treat the surface of the ridges simultaneously with different working bodies, affecting only the surface layer of the ridges in one pass. As a result, this layer is maximally freed from weeds, which eliminates the use of herbicides in the cultivation of potatoes, as well as vegetable crops in the system of ecological farming.

Adaptation of the parameters, form and structure of the tillage implements to varying conditions of work is the current direction of improving the efficiency of the tillage process.
It is shown that in the system «energy source – working tool – soil» self-adaptation occurs by changing the structure of the system. A part of the treated stratum of the soil goes into a plastic state, and the other part experiences crumbling due to brittle deformations and shifts with the formation of intermediate working surfaces. Adaptive systems are considered using the elements of the theory of automatic control systems.
It is possible to use a self-organizing system only in the experimental period. Then it can be replaced by a system with the execution of the shape of the working surface in the shape of a compacted body from the soil, or in the shape of one of the surfaces of the shifts in the soil (sliding surface of the elements of the reservoir), or repeat the shape of the experimental surface of flexible material.

Theoretically established that the increase in mass, angular velocity, distance from the center of mounting knife to the center of mass of the knife, as well as increasing the deflection angle of the knife and the knife to increase the supply of its force on the cut and ground vegetation. Effective in the creation of heat-stressed systems for the parametric series of mobile agricultural machines is the development of modular systems. A modular series of heat-stressed systems, using the example of the BELARUS range of tractors, allows for deep unification of systems and significant financial savings at the production and operational stages.
A design methodology was proposed that combined new scientific positions in this direction. The methodology of system design is complemented by the morphological method of developing structural schemes and designs, and, what is especially important, a normative (numerical) estimation of the complexity of the system is proposed, allowing comparative evaluation of the developed systems in comparison with the baseline ones. The morphological method and the modular principle in their totality are a new effective direction in creating promising systems of mobile agricultural machinery.
